POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES A. Overview  International Conference on Nuclear Capacity building, Education, Research and Applications (I- Concern’19) Poster Sessions will be held at The Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel Yogyakarta 2 nd floor. Poster sessions will be held at two occasions: September 6, 2019 and September 7, 2019. Each session will be held for one hour and will consist of different posters. Please check your assigned time and location.  Posters will be displayed around the auditorium for public viewing. The objective of a poster is to outline the findings from research clearly and concisely so that they can be understood even without an oral explanation—especially since posters will also be displayed even when the author is not present.  Posters should be prepared in advance by the presenters. There will be no on-site printing facilities for posters. Presenters should give the posters to the committees on registration to be displayed at designated place. The conference committees will not receive and print any poster sent by e-mail or any digital media.  Posters are listed below under theme, and then poster number. The poster number identifies where the poster is positioned on the day it will be displayed. The boards will have a sign notifying your poster code number; the numbering is provided by the Organizer. Please check the code, poster number and presentation schedule of your poster in the Program & Abstract Book.  The poster presenters have to confirm their appearance to the secretariat or directly to the person in charge during the registration time and then hanging the poster from morning on September 6, 2019 or September 7, 2019 adjusted to presentation schedule of your poster. The posters should be removed after poster session in the afternoon on September 6, 2019 or September 7, 2019.  All posters should be display during conference where Poster Presentation will be held in poster session, September 6, 2019 and September 7, 2019. The presenting author(s) must be present close to the poster during all the period assigned, and are expected to be available for questions at posters session. B. Size and Display  Posters should be simple, brief and prepared having in minds, primarily, their use as a basis for the presentation, use graphs/charts where appropriate and stand out by using solid colors for lines or bars.  Maximum poster size: A0 paper (84.1 cm width and 118.9 cm height).  Please add i-concern logo in the header of your poster. (Click here to download)  Posters should be printed in portrait layout to accommodate the layout of the display board. The example of the display provided can be seen on the picture below. C. Design and Layout Sections Please note that there are no hard-and-fast rules for the sections as long as the research is presented clearly and concisely. Here is a suggested list of sections in a poster:  Research Title (with name of authors and affiliations)  Introduction (which usually consist of backgrounds, objectives, and/or problems)  Methodology  Results  Conclusion  References  Acknowledgements  Contact Information Organization  Poster contents should always be arranged in columns on an invisible grid.  Put your research objective in a prominent place (usually the upper left of a poster, where a reader’s eyes will land first).  Avoid using abbreviations, acronyms and/or jargon in your poster.  Use a consistent style and sequence (left to right or top to bottom) to guide the viewer throughout the poster.  Keep the text brief and to the point.  You may use figures, tables, graphs and/or photograph where suitable. Be careful not to overload the poster with text and/or graphics. The objective is to present the information clearly and simply in a visually appealing way. Fonts  Poster should be readable from a two-meter distance. Font size should be adjusted accordingly. We recommend 24 pt. size minimum for the Times New Roman font (adjust other fonts accordingly).  Text should be justified.  Do not use underline or all caps for emphasis. Instead, use italics or bold. Images  Check to be sure that the images falls under fair-use copyright rules. Typically, an image used to illustrate an educational poster is considered fair use. Provide attribution.  Online images are usually low in resolution. Although the image appears crisp on your computer screen, it usually won’t be sharp in poster size. Choose 220 dpi resolution or slightly higher. D. Poster Presentation Poster Contest You, or a representative from your research group, must stand by your poster during your assigned judging time. If someone is not representing your research when the judges come by, your poster will be disqualified. We encourage presenters to practice their research explanation for the judges prior to their poster session. During the time you are not required to stand by your poster, you are encouraged to visit other presenters’ posters. Presenting the Information These are some suggestions for the presentation of your poster:  Consider providing a brief handout or small copies of your poster to be distributed among poster session attendees. We recommend you bring approximately 100 copies of the handout and provide contact information on the handout.  In order to facilitate your interaction with participants visiting your poster, we encourage you to prepare a short verbal description of your key findings.  If possible, at least one of the authors should be present during the entire poster session or when conference participants are expected to visit the poster.  To facilitate further collaboration on your research, you are encouraged to give your contact or website information for the people with more questions.
