You will find downloading instructions on page 59. Morning Lectures Nationally known speaker, Ruben Gonzalez will be the Keynote Speaker on Monday. A seemingly “ordinary guy,” Ruben Gonzalez wasn’t a gifted athlete. He didn’t take up the sport of luge until he was 21. Against all odds, four years later he was competing in the Winter Olympics. At the age of 47 he was racing against 20-year-olds in the Vancouver Winter Olympics! Tuesday’s general session will feature the 2018 Lester/Mehl Honor award winner Dr. Glenn Light. The morning lectures will conclude on Wednesday with a plenary on NDT 4.0 by Ripi Singh. All Lectures begin at 8:00 am. Technical Sessions The ASNT Annual Conference brings together many great speakers each year to present three full days of sessions. Beginning on Monday at 8am, the technical sessions will feature topics such as Chemical & Petroleum, Ultrasonics, NDT 4.0. and more! Exhibit Hall & Innovation Forum Featuring more the 200 exhibitors, the 2018 ASNT Exhibition will be held in the George R. Brown Convention Center Hall A3. Be sure to attend the Innovation Forum on Monday and Tuesday from 11am – 1pm. Additionally there will once again be a free welcome reception Sunday evening from 5pm – 8pm. ASNT holds this Annual Conference for the advancement of NDT and our fellowship as professionals. Final meeting agenda will be distributed at the meeting. Registration Procedures In order to vote on Society business during the meeting, it is necessary that voting members have membership verified prior to the beginning of the meeting. Each voting member will receive a color card which 1) verifies membership and 2) serves as voting card. M M For verification, please provide your membership card, conference badge or another form of identification to the business meeting registration personnel. M M Sign the voting registration log. M M You will then receive a voting card and ballot materials. Proxy Votes According to the ASNT By-laws: ARTICLE II: MEMBERS Section 11 - Voting by Proxy Voting Members may vote by proxy on a specific issue, unless otherwise limited, provided the proxy vote is: M M authorized in writing by the member or by a duly authorized attorney-in-fact; M M a clear statement of the member’s stance on the issue (in favor of, against, or abstention) and the casting of the proxy vote is as stated; M M used to establish the number of votes cast, but is not used to establish a quorum; and valid, being no more than thirty (30) days from the date of execution. Only the Chairperson shall be permitted to cast more than one proxy on a single ballot.
