A few Landmarks regarding the Romanian printing Craftsmanship in the XVI-th and XVII-th Centuries Although many names were mentioned (Laurens J. Coster, Brito from Bruges, Prokop Waldvogel, etc.) most historians agreed that Johann Gensfleisch known as Gutenberg from Mainz is the real inventor of the European printing. The first East European printing centres emerged in Buda (1473) and Cracow (1474). In Romania the printing activity began in 1508 when the Serbian monk Macarie printed a Liturgical Book at the Dealu Monastery. While in Walachia the printing activity is related to people like Dimitrie Liubavici, Coresi, Meletie the Macedonian, Timotei (Alexandrovici) Verbiţki, Mitrofan, Antim Ivireanul and brothers Şerban and Radu Greceanu and in Transylvania, to Popa Dobre, Coresi and his apprentices Şerban and Marian, in Moldavia the printing activity started as a result of bishops Varlaam’s and Dosoftei’s endeavours. The Days of the National Library of Romania.. The 10-th edition. December 13th-14th 2007 The 10-th edition of the Days of the National Library of Romania took place under the sign of the centenary of Mircea Eliade’s birth (1907-2007) and marked 40 years since the establishment of the National Centre for the Pathology and the Restoration of the Documents (1967- 2007) and 50 years of the National Shared Catalogues. As part of the symposium Mircea Eliade and his generation, Mihail Şora and Ioan Jata conjured up Eliade as a young academician, professor and school founder. Mircea Handoca spoke about the Romanian editions of Mircea Eliade’s works, and Ioan Bogdan Lefter – about the associations and the dissociations between the members of so called Generation ‘27. The exposition inaugurated with this occasion hosted documents from the Special Collections of BNR: books with dedications, manuscripts, letters, cards, and the most precious item – the manuscript of the novel The light that dies out. This edition also included: a presentation of the history of the Chamber of Commerce building, which currently hosts the National Library of Romania, presentation made by Nicolae Noica, books launchings and the signing of the collaboration protocol between the National Library of Romania and the National Library of the Republic of Moldova. The Typology and the Evolution of the Book in the Middle Age The writing, displayed under different forms: synthetic, analytical, ideographs, cuneiforms, hieroglyphic or phonetic, must be comprehended as a historical phenomenon and must be construed in a direct connection with the progress of the human civilization, which mirrors it. After its invention in the 2nd century China and its dissemination in Japan, Korea and Arab countries, between 6th and 7th centuries, the paper started to be used in Europe between 11th and 12th centuries. Anca Andreescu. Quelques références sur l’art de l’imprimerie roumaine aux XVIème et XVIIème siècles Bien que, au cours du temps on ait mentionné plusieurs noms (Laurens J. Coster, Brito de Bruges, Prokop Waldvogel, etc.), la plus part des historiens ont conclu que Johann Gensfleisch de Mainz, dit Gutenberg est le vrai inventeur de l’imprimerie européenne. Les premiers centres typographiques du sud-est de l’Europe sont Buda (1473) et Cracovie (1474). Depuis 1508, l’année où le moine serbe Macarie imprime un Liturghier (missel) au monastère Dealu, on peut parler du commencement de l’activité typographique en Roumanie aussi. Si, dans la Valachie l’art de l’imprimerie est liée aux noms de Dimitrie Liubavici, Coresi, Meletie Macédonien, Timotei (Alexandrovici) Verbiţki, Mitrofan, Antim Ivireanul et les frères Şerban et Radu Greceanu, en Transylvanie elle est liée au nom de Coresi et ses apprentis Şerban et Marian ou au celui de Popa Dobre et, en Moldavie, aux efforts des métropolites Varlaam et Dosoftei. Xème édition. 13-14 décembre 2007 Les Jours de la Bibliothèque Nationale de Roumanie – 2007 ont été dédiés au Centenaire de la naissance de Mircea Eliade (1907-2007) et ont marqué 40 années de la fondation du Centre National de Pathologie et de Restauration des Documents (1967-2007) et 50 années de la création du Service Les Catalogues Collectifs Nationaux. À l’occasion du symposium Mircea Eliade et sa génération, Mihail Şora et Ioan Jata ont évoqué M. Eliade comme jeune universitaire et plus tard comme professeur, Mircea Handoca a passé en revue les éditions roumaines Mircea Eliade et Ioan Bogdan Lefter – les affinités et les désaccords entre les représentants de la Génération ’27. L’exposition réalisée avec cette occasion a réuni des documents des Collections Spéciales de la Bibliothèque Nationale de Roumanie: des exemplaires dédicacés, des manuscrits, des lettres, des cartes postales, etc. L’une des plus précieuses pièces de bibliophilie a été le manuscrit du roman La lumière qui s’éteint. L’édition de cette année des Jours de la Bibliothèque Nationale de Roumanie ont inclus aussi: une intéressante présentation faite par Nicolae Noica sur l’histoire du bâtiment de la Chambre du Commerce où à présent se trouve le siège de la Bibliothèque Nationale de Roumanie, des lancements des livres et aussi un protocole de collaboration signé entre la Bibliothèque Nationale de Roumanie et la Bibliothèque Nationale de la République de Moldavie. Après son apparition en Chine au IIème siècle et sa diffusion au Japon, à la Corée et aux pays arabes pendant le VIème et le VIIème, le papier allait se rependre en Europe aussi pendant le XIème et le XIIème siècles.
