SFRA Quick Start Guide Doble SFRA Quick Start Guide Introduction This Quick Start Guide shows how to make a good measurement using an M or M test set CAUTION The transformer under test must be completely de-energized and isolated from the system Follow your own company rules policies and government regulations to ensure safety of personnel and property The transformer and the M test instrument must share a common ground or earthing point Preparing the Transformer All bushings and windings should be disconnected from any connecting bus and or insulators Terminals not under test should be isolated and oating unless otherwise speci ?ed Setting up the Instrument and Software M Start the SFRA M software on the M test set The M software will start automatically Double click on the SFRA software icon if necessary M On your PC install the software only on the C drive not a network drive Make sure SFRA M software is running and you have no network connections no wireless connections active or turned on and no ?rewall and or virus software active or enabled networks virus software and ?rewalls interfere with communications with the M Follow the procedure in the table below Click on Edit and then Edit Apparatus Select each of the following editors in turn ? Location ? Transformer ? Test Equipment ? Test Organization Enter details for each editor Make sure to select a template for the transformer Once you have entered the information click on Select Apparatus Location on the to select the apparatus for test Click on ? Start Test ? in the middle of the pane at left Fill in details in the Test Details window and click on Run Test Checking Instruments and Leads The Doble SFRA test set and leads are con ?gured for use as in Figure ?? color coded yellow-red-black PN - Figure M Test Set and Test Leads - - A- - Rev C CSFRA Quick Start Guide Start up the Doble SFRA software Ensure the cables are connected to the test set following the color coded BNC connections A test lead integrity check may be performed if required see the Doble SFRA User Guide for details Connecting Leads to the Transformer and Running Tests When running a test on a transformer winding for example H -H attach the Red Lead to the H bushing and the Black Lead to the H bushing as shown in Figure Note When connecting leads to a transformer ensure that you attach the lead grounds to a stud or bolt at the base of the bushing and that good electrical contact is established and maintained Figure Connecting Leads to the Transformer to Measure H -H It is important to record nameplate and test arrangement data in the 'Nameplate' section of the software The following details are a minimum set required for each test ?
