All rights reserved Software Mastercam X Use of this document is subject to the Mastercam End User License Agreement A copy of the Mastercam End User License Agreement is included with the Mastercam product package of which this document is part The Mastercam End User License Agreement can also be found at http www mastercam com companyinfo legal LicenseAgreement aspx Be sure you have the latest information Information might have been changed or added since this document was published The latest version of this document is installed with Mastercam or can be obtained from your local Reseller A ReadMe ?le ReadMe pdf ?? installed with each release ??includes the latest information about Mastercam features and enhancements CTransition to X This guide is designed to help you update your Mastercam ?les for use in Mastercam X A standard installation to the default locations is assumed If you need assistance with a non-standard installation you should contact your local Reseller Use the information included here to automatically migrate the majority of your ?les manually copy any ?les not included automatically and to get up and running with the latest version of Mastercam Before You Begin Mastercam X includes a powerful yet straightforward Migration Wizard The Migration Wizard has two options you can choose from Basic or Advanced For Basic that requires you to select and set the target directories and the destination location to update the majority of your ?les to the current version For Advanced you choose what ?le types and version types to migrate in addition to selecting and setting the target directories and destination location Some of the ?les migrated by this wizard are ? Part ?les ? Defaults ?les ? Operation and Tool libraries ? Control De ?nitions ? Machine De ?nitions Many factors a ?ect the Migration Wizard ? s processing time The most signi ?cant of these is the number of part ?les you have stored in your personal My Mcamx and C MASTERCAM X Transition to X shared Shared Mcamx directories You may choose to relocate your part ?les to shorten the migration process Running the Migration Wizard Run the Migration Wizard the ?rst time you launch Mastercam X and before you begin to make changes to the X setup Before running the Migration Wizard be aware of the following ? NC and NCI ?les are not migrated ? If ?les have not changed from the originally distributed versions then they will not be updated to the latest version ? MTB and KMP ?les are migrated however if you wish to import them into the latest version of Mastercam they must be imported through the Customize dialog box Refer to the Help for more information If it encounters any errors the Migration Wizard halts the process until you take appropriate action Launching the Migration Wizard Launch Mastercam using your preferred method Select File Migration Wizard
