Vendredi 11 mai 2012 L'EXPOSITION DE YANNICK BERRUEL Journaliste: Myriam Sainson L'artiste-peintre sherbrookois Yannick Berruel expose ses toiles abstraites, art contemporain au Café Le Tassé, au 426 rue du Conseil, à Sherbrooke, jusqu'au 13 mai 2012, selon les heures d'ouverture du café, du mardi au samedi. En tout, sept œuvres inédites acryliques et techniques mixtes qui révèlent un certain exotisme luxuriant de couleurs et de vie, dans les jaunes, bleus, rouges. Une abondance d'harmonies où la luminosité qui en découle joue avec un jaillissement exceptionnel d'énergie. On retrouve alors dans les acryliques «Alysse », « Byzance », « Casbah », « Exode », «Harangue », « Luxuriance » et en techniques mixtes « Khartoum ». Une exposition à prendre le temps de découvrir, tout en dégustant un merveilleux espresso du Café le Tassé... Yannick Berruel, qui détient un Certificat en arts visuels de l'UQÀM, exprime sa démarche artistique, d'une façon claire et déterminée, qui peut être alors transmise aisément au grand public: « C'est en passant par la photo, la céramique et la sculpture que j'arrive à la peinture. Les formes organiques de mes peintures abstraites me viennent de la pratique de la photographie. Ma recherche actuelle porte sur la couleur, je me laisse guider par une gestuelle, variant selon le moment et mon ressenti. En plus de l'acrylique, j'utilise dans certaines de mes œuvres une mixité de matériaux comme les pâtes, les fibres et le collage de papier ». Yannick Berruel a suivi une formation dans de nombreux ateliers comme l'atelier BeauVoir avec Chantal Touchette, l'atelier Labelle, Durant avec Francine Labelle, l'atelier Kaf Art avec France Houle et Eneida Hernendez, l'atelier Sfumato avec Carole Pellerin, l'Atelier du Geste avec Andrée Bonnard. These seven new acrylic and technical mixed works reveal a certain luxuriant exoticism of colors and life, in yellows, blues and reds. An abundance of harmonies where ensuing brightness plays with exceptional gushes of energy is created, revealing the acrylic works "Abysse", "Byzance", "Kasbah", "Exode", "Harangue", "Luxuriance" and in mixed techniques "Khartoum". This is an exhibit worth taking the time to discover, while sipping a cup of Café le Tassé's marvellous expresso... Yannick Berruel, who holds a Certificate in Visual Arts from UQÀM, expresses his artistic ability, in a clear and determined way, which can then be transmitted easily to the general public: "I arrived at painting by way of photography, pottery and sculpturing. The organic forms of my abstract art come to me from my photography experience. My current research focuses on color. I am guided by movement, varying with the moment and my feelings. In addition to the acrylic resin, I use a mix of materials like pastes, fibres and paper collage, in some of my works". Yannick Berruel has attended many workshops like the Beauvoir workshop with Chantal Touchette, the Labelle workshop, Durant with Francine Labelle, the Kaf Art workshop with France Houle and Eneida Hernendez, the Sfumato workshop with Carole Pellerin and the workshop on movement with Andrée Bonnard. Berruel's exhibition can be seen Tuesdays to Fridays, 7p.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Café le Tassé.
