"#$ % 1.1 Overview This manual describes access to the configuration application and its client operation as part of the Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista 4760 application, which is associated with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server. Using a microcomputer, the client operation allows you to create, modify, and edit management settings, including: - User sets - Speed dialing numbers (abbreviated numbers) - Sections of speed dialing numbers - Cost centers - Project numbers - Filter tables - Routing tables - Hunt groups - Change-over times - Alarm sets - Numbering plan (output only) - User's directory Note: The features of the micro-computer (PC type) required for client operation are described in the Alcatel- Lucent OmniVista 4760 documentation. 1.2 Starting the Configuration application 1. From the Windows Start menu, select Programs, followed by OmniVista 4760, then Client OmniVista 4760. The following window is displayed: 1 ! "#$ % 1-1 2. Enter your user name and password. 3. Click to choose a language, then click OK. The following window is displayed: Chapter 1 & ' 1-2 ! "#$ % 4. Click the icon to start the configuration application settings. For example, the following window is displayed: & ' ! "#$ % 1-3 5. Select the PCX to be managed, then right-click and select Connect from the pop-up menu. For example, the following window is displayed: 1.3 Main window 1. Right-click the PCX name, then select Configure. Chapter 1 & ' 1-4 ! "#$ % 2. Click the icon to display the tree structure of the selected PCX. 3. Select the desired object (e.g., Users). The main window of the configuration application is displayed: 4. Right-click the desired object to display the pop-up menu. Note 1: In the main window, the following commands are displayed from the pop-up menu of a selected object: & ' ! "#$ % 1-5 Open/Close Opens/closes an item Filter Filters criteria Create Creates a new item Delete Deletes an item Import Loads a text file previously exported and possibly modified Scheduled import Schedules an import via a scheduler Export Creates a text file containing all or part of the configuration data of one or more PCXs Scheduled Export Schedules an export via a scheduler Refresh Retrieves new data from the PCX New Grid Displays a window containing both search and data areas Graphical View Configures a set's programmable and directory keys from a graphical view (feature specific to user items) Object Model Save Displays the number of saved object models and the maximum number of object models Connect Connects to the PCX Note 2: These commands are common to the entire application. The commands described in this section are ex- plained in more detail in the Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista 4760 - Configuration manual. Any window containing a scroll bar may be displayed in full page view by double-clicking the window's title bar. Chapter 1 & ' 1-6 ! "#$ % 1.3.1 Data display 1.3.1.1 Selecting items in the tree and displaying data - Select an item in the tree structure and click to open its record in the data area. To select consecutive items 1. Select an item (beginning of selection). 2. Press the Shift key and keep it pressed down. 3. Using the mouse, click to select another item (end of selection). A grid containing all the selected items is displayed in the data area. To select non-consecutive items 1. Select an item. 2. Press the Ctrl key and keep it pressed down. 3. Using the mouse, click to select one or more items. Each new selected item is added to the selection grid. 1.3.1.2 Locating an item in the tree You can locate an item displayed in the data area in the tree. 1. Select an item in the data area (grid or record). 2. Click the icon. 1.3.1.3 Record or grid mode The data area has two display modes: - Record mode: the attributes are in line - Grid mode: the attributes are grouped in columns, the items in lines Click the icon to switch from record mode to grid mode. 1.3.1.4 Navigating in the data area Use the: - icon to move the selection to the previous item - icon to move the selection to the next item 1.3.2 Printing 1. Click the icon to open the printing window. 2. Set the desired parameters. 3. Launch printing. & ' ! "#$ % 1-7 Chapter 1 & ' 1-8 ! "#$ % 2.1 User sets This menu enables configuration of the telephone data parameters of user sets. Note: One help menu exists for each attribute. To display a help menu: 1. Select an attribute. 2. Right-click the attribute, then select the Attribute help command from the pop-up menu. 2.1.1 Creating a user set 1. From the main window, select . 2. Right-click Users, then select Create from the pop-up menu. 3. Fill in the attributes. Note 1: To display all attributes linked to an item, click the tab. 2 ! "#$ % 2-1 Example 1: It is possible to display the attributes classed by a tab (General Characteristics, Set Characteristics, Facilities, Hotel, Miscellaneous). The tab specific to certain items) allows you to execute a particular action. Example 2: Forced deletion of a user — action specific to User items -(Refer to § Deleting a user set by forced deletion ). 4. Click one of the following: • icon to validate your creation • icon to cancel Directory Number This attribute allows you to enter the set's directory number. This input is mandatory and the number must be part of the system numbering plan. The number can contain up to 8 characters. Each character can have a value from 0 to 9, *, # , and A, B, C, or D. The directory number of a multiline set corresponds to the call number of its main line. Directory Name Directory First Name These are the users name and first name respectively. These contain a maximum of 20 characters. They are used for 47xx applications. Chapter 2 ( ) * 2-2 ! "#$ % Note 2: Inputting the directory name and first name (20 characters respectively) allows the directory name (12 char- acters) and first name (8 characters) call attributes to be automatically filled in by name and vice-versa. These attributes can be managed separately.
