I will go into detail about several common topics both basic and advanced. Due to the overall length of this guide, you'll notice that I've put specific pre-requisites for each section. This will tell you if the given topic is in your comfort zone so that I may decrease any difficulty on the user end of the guide. Let's continue on now... Table Of Contents 1. You'll see this term thrown around in regards to battery life, but what exactly does it mean? To give you the general idea, a wakelock is a trigger that causes your phone (more specifically, the cpu) to 'wake up'. This 'wake' term means your device is no longer sleeping and will actively use a bit more battery. Not all wakelocks are bad. Some of these are part of your kernel, but the unwanted wakelocks generally come from apps you've installed on your device. The goal here is to prevent these wakelocks from interrupting the devices sleep. This way you don't have to worry much about battery drain when you literally aren't using the phone. With this knowledge in mind, we have several options/methods we can use in order to approach this issue of unnecessary wakelocks. I will go over some common methods below.
