1 Installation Guide for the Trial Version of XTAP Ver. 2.1 April 3, 2019 1 Unzip the downloaded file “XTAP_V21x_trial.zip” to a local folder. Since you are reading this installation guide, you may have already finished this process. 2 Before installing XTAP, you have to install MATLAB Component Runtime 7.5 which XTAP requires for its execution. Double-click on “MCRInstaller.exe” in the folder where you have unzipped the files. This will start the installation of MATLAB Component Runtime 7.5. If the installation fails, try the installation with administrative privileges of Windows. Right-click on “MCRInstaller.exe” and choose “Run as administrator”. 2-1 Complete the installation of MATLAB Component Runtime 7.5 following the dialogue messages shown on the installer. 2-2 When it is correctly finished, your will see the window on the right-hand side. 2 Note that MATLAB Component Runtime 7.5 requires .NET Framework 3.5. If it is not turned on in your Windows, activate it by referring to the following web page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en- us/dotnet/framework/install/dotnet-35- windows-10 3 Next, you install XTAP. Double-click on “setup.exe” in the folder where you have unzipped the files. This will start the installation of XTAP. If the installation fails, try the installation with administrative privileges of Windows. Right-click on “setup.exe” and choose “Run as administrator”. 3-1 Click on the [ Next > ] button. 3-2 Choose a folder to which XTAP is installed. Due to file access permission issues of the Windows operating system, installation to the directory C:\XTAP\ is recommended. Complete the installation of XTAP following the dialogue messages shown on the installer. 3 3-3 When it is correctly finished, your will see the window on the right-hand side. If you are using Windows 7, you may not have .NET Framework 4.5 or later installed on your system. If this is the case, the installer will show a message explaining this situation. Then, install .NET Framework 4.5 or later with referring to the following web page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en- us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-7 4 After the installation is finished, you can start XTAP using the start menu of Windows. The picture on the right-hand side is for the case of Windows 10. You can also start XTAP by double-clicking on an .xsf file containing a data case (xsf stands for XTAP schematic file). 5 Enjoy the world of XTAP!
