The temperature sensors shall be incorporated in the starter windings to measure directly the motor heating. The product shall be provided with 3-sensor circuits and a accumulative evaluation system as well as a configurable non-volatile storage in case of failure. The device shall have a front-sided storage reset and test button. Also the capability of an automatic and a remote reset shall be given. A short circuit monitoring of the sensor cable shall be done by the device. The thermistor motor protection relay shall accept a continuous supply voltage range 24-240 V AC/ DC. If the PTC resistor belonging to one sensor circuit heats up excessively, the output relay de-energizes. After cooling down the output relay energizes as soon as the reset button is pushed or automatic or remote reset is configured. The device shall be provided with the following LED indications: - Fault tripping F1(preferably red LED) - Fault tripping F2 (preferably red LED) - Fault tripping F3 (preferably red LED) - Supply voltage (preferably green LED) The thermistor motor protection relay shall be ABB type CM-MSS, 3 sensors, accumulative evaluation or pre-approved equal. 3.0 Conformance/ The thermistor motor protection relay shall be designed, standards manufactured and tested in accordance with the latest editions of applicable IEC standards. Product standard: IEC 255-6, EN 60255-6 Electromagnetic compatibility: ESD IEC 61000-4-2, EN 61000-4-2 2CDC 112 031 D0201 1/3 Technical specification guide Thermistor motor protection relay Revision 1.0 HF radiation resistance IEC 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-3 Burst IEC 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-4 Surge IEC 1000-4-5, EN 61000-4-5 HF line emission IEC 1000-4-6, EN 61000-4-6 4.0 Approvals / Marks The thermistor motor protection relay shall be approved and/ or certified by the following organizations: - Underwriters Laboratories (cULus) - GOST - ATEX and shall have the following marks: - CE - C-Tick 5.0 Technical data The thermistor motor protection device shall be rated in accordance with the following specifications: Rated supply voltage 24-240 V AC/ DC Rated frequency 15-400 Hz Number of output contacts 1 n/c, 1 n/o Rated switching voltage (IEC 60947-1, IEC 664-1): 250 V AC Rated switching current (IEC 60947-5-1): AC12 (resistive) @ 230 V 4 A AC15 (inductive) @ 230 V 3 A DC12 (resistive) @ 24 V 4 A DC13 (inductive) @ 24 V 2 A Operating temperature range -20 °C … +60 °C Storage temperature range -40 °C … +85 °C 6.0 Mechanical The thermistor motor protection device should be realized in a requirements 22.5 mm wide enclosure, possible to be mounted on DIN rail according to EN 50022. The connection terminals should be able to accept stranded wires in the size of 2 x 2.5 mm2 (2 x 14 AWG) with wire end ferrule. The enclosure should have a protection degree of IP50 and the terminals should have a protection degree of IP20. The mounting position of the device in a cabinet should not be limited. The product should have a resistance to vibration of 6 g and an operational reliability of 4 g. 7.0 Quality The vendor shall be certified in accordance to ISO 9001 (quality requirements management system) and ISO 14001 (environmental certification). A complete environmental product declaration (EPD) shall be available upon request.
