MAN#673R3/P3/16/ 2. OVERVIEW 2.1 Introduction ZGB203 wireless receiver with RS485/MODBUS RTU that receives the transmitted signals from ZGE201,ZGE202, ZGE203, ZGE204, ZGE205 Transmitter & ZGB202 Router. Process receive data from transmitters & store data on internal fix memory location allotted for each transmitter. Depending on transmitter ID. The system consists of stand-alone battery powered transmitter which transmit data at pre-defined interval to the receiver ZGB203 connected to RS485 Bus. A provision is there to place a repeater ZGB202 between the transmitter and the receiver, if range is to be extended. When activated the transmitter will transmit data continuously at a pre-set time interval that was programmed by the user during the initial setup. Each unit measures and transmits: Process Input Reading, Ambient Temperature, RF Signal Strength and Battery Condition to the receiver . 2.2 Features — Surface mount design — Range of RF communication Up to 1Km outdoor line of sight Up to 40m indoor / urban — Router to extend the range — Configurable baud rate, parity, stop bits — Up to 25-channel reception through wireless — Default parameters can be restored by pressing reset switch 2.3 Specifications All specifications at ambient of 25°C, unless specified otherwise POWER Supply voltage 24VDC, up to 1A : AC POWER ADAPTOR (Optional) Model : ACA203 Input : 100-240VAC 50/60HZ, 0.8A Max Output : 24VDC, 1A COMMUNICATION Port RS485 : Protocol Modbus RTU : Slave ID : User programmable (1 ~ 247)* * 248 is default ID for all receivers Baud rate (bps) : 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200 Stop_bit : 1, 2 Parity : None, odd, even Number of channels : Up to 25 channel per receiver RF COMMUNICATION RF frequency ISM 2.4GHz, direct sequence : transceiver carrier spread spectrum RF output power 10dBm (1mW) : Range of RF : Up to 1Km outdoor line of sight Up to 40m indoor / urban communication RF data packet : IEEE 802.15.4, open standard communication architecture MECHANICAL Enclosure : Metal Dimensions : 90(L) x 90(W) x 20(H) (without antenna) Mounting : Wall/Surface Mechanical details : Fig 4 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Operating ambient : 0 to 50 °C temperature Relative humidity : below 90%, non condensing MAN#673R3/P4/16/ 2.5 Display & Control Key Functions (Refer 2.4) 2.6 Terminal Connection 2.7 RS485 Wiring Connections Refer Fig.1&2 Indicator/Display Function (1) Antenna To transmit signal (2) D+ D- RS485 connection for communication (3) TX LED Transmit Indicator LED blink when transmit data on RS485 bus RX LED SB LED PWR LED V+ V- (4) Power (PWR) Indicator LED glow continuously when device is powered 24 VDC connection for power supply Standby (SB) Indicator LED, blink continuously during normal operation. INTRODUCTION The MODBUS/RTU protocol is messaging structure, widely used to establish master - slave communications between intelligent devices. A modbus message sent from a master to slave tells the selected slave what to do and what information to send back. The MODBUS/RTU protocol works with RS232, RS485 and RS422 standards. 4. FUNCTIONS When a message is sent from a master to a slave device the function code tells the slave what kind of action to perform. Generally, the following functions are implemented in Radix MODBUS products : 0x03 (03) READ HOLDING REGISTERS 0x06 (06) PRESET SINGLE REGISTER 0x10 (16) PRESET MULTIPLE REGISTERS MAN#673R3/P6/16/ 5. CONFIGURATION PARAMETERS 5.1 Receive Device ID : Slave ID for MODBUS Communication. Note : Receive Device ID = 248 is default Device ID for communication. All devices will respond to Device ID = 248 irrespective of set device ID for the receiver. It is strictly recommended not to set Device ID = 248 for any of the devices on the same bus 5.2 Display time out : This is to keep track for missing data from transmitter. uploads/Management/ user-guide-zgb203.pdf
