It supports a wide range of computer file formats, such as plain text documents, MicroSoft Word documents, images (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PCX……), and videos (.MPG, .MPEG, .MPV, .MPA, .AVI, .VCD, .SWF, .RM, .RA, .RMJ, .ASF……). Once created, these playfiles can be played on your computer for a preview. After you are satisfied with a playfile, you can send it to LED display to be shown. They can be stored on your computer for later recall. LEDStudio operates with direct connected LED display via DVI (digital Video Interface). 2 Software Installation LEDStudio User Guide BestLED Technology Page 3 2 Software Installation 2 Software Installation LEDStudio User Guide BestLED Technology Page 4 2 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION 2.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENT  Operating system Windows 2000 or XP  Hardware Configuration Pentium class or AMD 2GHz processor or faster 512 MB RAM, 1MB recommended 256-color or above VGA or DVI video card Video card supporting Direct Draw Overlay 100MB free disk space  Related Software Microsoft Media player Microsoft Office 2000 (if .doc files are to be used in playfiles) Realplayer (if .rm files are to be used in playfiles) 2.2 INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE The LEDStudio installation wizard will guide through the installation of the software. Place the installation CD into your computer CD-ROM drive. Initiate the installation by browsing to your installation disk and double-clicking the setup program. You are first asked to select software language as shown in Figure 2.1 below: FIGURE 2.1. FIGURE 2.3 LEDSTUDIO INSTALLSHIELD WIZARD REGISTRATION INFORMATION WINDOW The serial number is “888888”. Click Next, then Next again. The Destination Directory window will appear (Figure 2.4). Click Next and the Ready To Install window appears (Figure 2.7). After LEDStudio software has been successfully installed, there will be an LED Software program group in Start -> Program. A playfile consists of playsteps. A playstep can be one of the two types: Universal Display and Step. A playfile can only have one Universal Display. It will be shown continuously on the LED display and are mainly used to display clock, company log, or other static information. Step is the main playstep type of a playfile and you can have as many Steps as you want. Steps are displayed in the order defined in the playfile. A playstep can have multiple window’s. A window contains certain content to be shown, which can be in the form of text, image, or video. A window can by one of the following 12 types:  File window: can be text, image, or video file of various famats  Text window: for quick text editing  Single-line text window: for single-line text editing  Static text window: for static text information such company slogan  Table window: for tabular data editing  Timer window: for timer display  Database window: for ACCESS database and ODBC database data  DVD/VCD window: for DVD/VCD video content  External exe window: for embedding data from external programs  Video window: for videos in the format of RM, ASF, AVI, etc.  Date/Time window: for data and time  Temperature/Humidity window: for temperature and humidity 3.2 SOFTWARE INTERFACE When you open LEDStudio, it displays the main program window and the preview window (Figure 3.1). The main window is where you create your playfiles and control the size and location of the preview window. 3 LEDStudio Basics LEDStudio User Guide BestLED Technology Page 11 FIGURE 3.1 LEDSTUDIO INTERFACE 3.2.1 PREVIEW WINDOW The preview window displays the content of playfile, i.e., the content you want to display on LED display, on your computer screen. Up to 99 preview windows are supported by LEDStudio. Each window is independent from others and you can create playfile, play playfile, and edit playfile for each preview window. In other word, LEDStudio can control up to 99 LED displays simultaneously. 3.2.2 MAIN PROGRAM WINDOW The main program window controls the size and location of the preview window. It has the commands to create playfile, edit playfile, and play playfile. . The workspace in the main window includes the following components: Title bar The title displays the name of the program Menu bar The menu bar displays commands for performing tasks and are organized by topic.
