CREATING TRAVEL GUIDE LESSON 5: CREATIVE NON-FICTION 4TH QUARTER OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, you will be able to: 1. identify the importance of travel guide. 2. know the ways and tips in writing a travel guide. 3. create their own travel guide. WHAT ARE TRAVEL GUIDES? - it is sometimes called as GUIDE BOOK. - a book of information about a place designed for the use of visitors or tourists - It will usually include information about sights, accommodation, restaurants, transportation, and activities. - There are no set strict guidelines in creating a travel guides. - Travel guides depend on a person’s creative mind and uniqueness. WAYS IN CREATING A TRAVEL GUIDE 1. Draw readers in with the right photo. - Photos are probably the most important part of your travel brochure. - The photos will draw a reader in and help them picture themselves at the travel destination. - Be sure to include a few photos of people having a good time so it's easier for customers to imagine themselves at your destination. - Choose photos that look great while accurately representing your location. 2. USE A COLOR SCHEME - The colors of your travel brochure play an important role in how it will be received. - For example, blue can communicate tranquility and peace as well as trust, and lighter blues are particularly calming. So if your destination is relaxing, and your target customer is looking for a peaceful vacation, light blues will probably send the right message. - Also consider how the colors you select blend with the photos in your brochure. - The color scheme and photographs should complement each other to achieve a unified feeling. - The colors of your brochure and the photos could work together within this color scheme to help customers know what to expect. -The same color scheme can be transformed by giving it a little tint. 3. CONSIDER THE CONTENT · The content of the travel guide must be given a lot of importance that anything else. · Make sure all the necessary data and information are correct and must be updated from time to time. · Content is more important than the aesthetic value of the travel guide. · Content must be informative enough for the guests and readers. ACTIVITY 1. Create a three-panel travel guide brochure about the assigned place and destination. 2. Brochure must be printed in a specialty board. 3. Please do use and apply the tips and guides in creating a travel guide. 4. You are allowed to get photo and information on the internet and cite it to the references. 5.
