It provides snippets of information that the DM will assume that the playing characters are aware of during the unfolding storyline. This information is not exhaustive and only provides enough information for the players to have in mind while playing through the story. IMPORTANT PLACES Moonstone Mask Tavern: A popular five-story feasthall situated on a tethered earthmote. Owned by Liset Cheldar. The cook is an Elven man named Theron. The Fallen Tower: A single story tavern owned by an Elven mage named Everquist. Well known for its stock of fine Elven brandy. Shining Serpent Inn: A four-story tall inn considered to be safe but expensive. Owned by an elderly man named Zzar. Driftwood Tavern: A fine inn and tavern located near the Blacklake District. Meeting place of the Greycloaks, a vigilante group. Owned by Madam Rosene. The inn is considered inexpensive but it is not always a safe place to reside for long. Beached Leviathan: This tavern and inn is actually a three- decked sailing ship harbored in the Blacklake District. It caters to the roughest of customers and I owned by the former pirate captain Harrag. Helm’s Hold: A small fortified city about 20 miles Southeast of Neverwinter. The city was founded as a holy city to the god Helm. The city is presently held by the Church of Asmodeus and the Ashmadai. However, the main cathedral within Helm’s hold is occupied by “The Prophet” and twelve loyal monks. The chapel is used as an asylum and hospital. The Prophet has a standing truce with the Ashmadai allowing the ill and afflicted of Neverwinter to enter the cathedral unharmed. Major Churches: Bahamut, Kelemvor, Oghma, Torm, and Tyr Castle Never: Lord Neverember’s palace Neverwinter Wood: A dark and brooding forest not far from Helm’s Hold. Legend says that it is cursed by Wild Magic and that a hideous green dragon calls it his lair. IMPORTANT PEOPLE Lord Dagult Neverember: Lord Protector of Neverwinter and commander of the Mintarn Guard. Mayor Oman Galt: Mayor of Neverwinter and in charge of the day-to-day workings of Neverwinter. General Sabine: She is the leader of the Neverwinter city guard. Swordcaptain Muln Horan: Dwarf captain of the Mintarn guard and liaison to the city guard. He helps to coordinate operations between the two law enforcement groups. Elden Vargas: A wealthy merchant wizard who operates mainly within the city. Karis’s husband. Karis Vargas: A wealthy merchant wizard who operates mainly out of the city. Elden’s wife. She was recently fallen ill and been transferred to Helm’s Hold. Lady Sala Nidris: She is a merchant who lives in Neverwinter but does business throughout the Sword Coast. Zan Nidris: Nine year old son of Lady Nidris. Sedge: The court bard of Castle Never. He is notoriously talkative which makes him an excellent town-crier and passer of news. The Prophet: She is a monk follower of Helm who oversees the Helm’s Hold chapel. She was once the High Priestess of Helm’s Hold before its fall. Now she and twelve other monks tend to the ill and insane within the cathedral. Brother Satarin: The highest ranking of the twelve monks in Helm’s Hold. The Dead Rats: A notorious street gang who live in the sewers. Legend has it that to become a member you must be transformed into a wererat. The Little Rats: A group of orphan children who act as pickpockets, mules, and messengers for the Dead Rats. The Ashmadai: Fanatic devil worshipers loyal to the Nine Lords of the Nine Hells.
