If this is your first time, pay attention. A vicious foe stands on top of a downed bus as he summons tiny freaks to do his bidding. Kill the Minions that crawl towards you with your sword (press X). Once they are weakened, you can finish them off by pressing B for a fireworks show of blood and guts. The Minions aren't so tough, so use this time to get yourself familiarized with the game controls and mechanics. To attack, press X. Jump by pressing A (you can double jump) and block/evade by hitting the Right Bumper. Once you kill about six or so Minions, the monster known as Trauma will drop down from the bus and confront you himself. At this time, the game orders you to enter Chaos Mode. Comply by holding down the Left Bumper and pressing the Right Trigger. As War turns into a humongous fiery demon, you are pretty much invincible. Coast through the monster by using your swords to tear him to pieces. A meteor conveniently clears the road for you, so move forward. Exit Chaos Mode by inputting the same button command and approach the cars. War may look human-sized, but he possesses great strength. Pick up a nearby car by pressing B, then aim and toss it with the Right Trigger. Continue towards the giant golem creature in the distance for a short scene. If you exited Chaos Mode earlier, you should be able to reenter against the fight with the Angel Soldiers. Easily dispose of them and your Chaos Mode will run out for good. Follow the golem - the Tormented Gate - through the ruined city. Don't worry about the helpless people running amok; you're one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: just kill 'em! You'll run into a few Minions and Angel Soldiers along the way. The angels have devastating attacks, so try to block often with the Right Bumper. With the enemies defeated, a strange goo forms on the side of a nearby skyscraper. This is Demonic Growth, and you can use it to climb. Scale the building, then climb up the next set of Demonic Growth to reach the roof. In order to cross rooftops, locate the power line in front of you and jump to automatically grab it. Shimmy across. A large set of Demonic Growth forms on the adjacent building. Jump onto it and begin your ascent. Minions will be crawling on the growth ready to attack, so avoid them by holding down the Right Bumper and using the Left Analog Stick to shift in any one of the four cardinal directions. Quickly move up onto the roof, then finish off the demons. You can try attacking the Minions while climbing, but that process is slow and leaves you open for attack. As you enter the office building ahead, an exit is sealed off as Minions pour into the room. In order to open up the exit, you must exterminate all enemies. Drop down the elevator shaft and follow the hallway. Nearby, a winged demon will obliterate an unfortunate helicopter. I hope those are on our side... Slide down a wire to exit the building and encounter a few more Angel Soldiers. There are plenty of cars here, so use them to your advantage by chucking them at your opponents. Use your map (use the big map if you need to by pressing Back) and follow the street towards the red skull icon. This will take you to the area's boss. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- --- BOSS: Straga ---------------------- Straga is a gargantuan demon that wants nothing more than to reduce War to a bloody pulp. With the intimidation factor aside, he is not difficult at all. Straga can't move around all that well since the lower half of his body is submerged in lava, so he is a bit limited when it comes to mobility. For the most part, you'll be dodging cars left and right. Straga will dig deep in his bottomless pit of cars and begin throwing them your way like they are Hot Wheels. Lock onto the boss with the Left Trigger and dash to avoid impact. Next up, use the cars to attack the boss. If you are locked onto Straga, you should automatically hit him square in the face every time. Keep doing this until Straga falls forward. With his ugly mug in reach, jump in the air and slash away at his head. Straga will pull himself away after three his, then retaliate with his next attack. The demon will pick up the street entirely, tilt it twice, then slam the street to the ground. Stand on the street as he lifts it up the two times, then get ready to double jump as Straga drops it down. As the battle progresses, Straga will use a third attack (though it's just as easy to dodge as the other two). As the boss slams his fist in the ground, a stream of lava will roll your way. Just like the cars, sidestep the liquid hot magma. The only way to stun Straga is to toss cars back at him, so you will have to be patient and wait for him to use the cars on you first. Nevertheless, this is a painfully easy boss fight and doesn't require much skill. The process of stunning Straga, then slicin' his face up must be done a total of three times in order to end the boss fight - finish the job by pressing B when the game prompts you to do so. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Despite the early advantage, Straga gains the upper hand and takes care of War. After a cutscene, the prologue will end. ======================================================================== ====== 3.02] THE CROSSROADS [0302] ======================================================================== ====== Charred Council ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You've been given a second chance, so uploads/Litterature/ darksiders.pdf
