Page of To KONICA MINOLTA AUTHORISED TECHNICAL PERSONNEL From KONICA MINOLTA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS UK LTD TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP Date Topic bizhub C C C Malfunction Code C- Trouble Shooting Guide Symptom C- may still occur even though the Machine has been modi ?ed with the new Mounting Bracket A E- - for the Pressure Retraction Sensor PS the new Actuator Arm A E- - for the PS Sensor and the new Detecting Plate A E - on the back of Transfer Film assy that operates the Actuator Arm and the Sensor Cause There are main reasons why the Code C- will be shown They are shown in order of their most common incidences The Modi ?ed White Plastic Detecting Plate on the rear of the Transfer Belt Assy does not always operate the Actuator Arm of the PS Sensor completely The Clutch CL which drives the Pressure Retraction Rollers of the Transfer Belt Assy is contaminated with Grease or Rust causing it to Slip No Power Voltage being supplied to the Clutch CL Clutch Action Use the following C- Trouble Shooting Guide to rectify the problem aP g e o f Page of Code C- Trouble Shooting Guide First of all check the operation of the CL Clutch that drives the Pressure Retraction mechanism is it working or not a Remove the Rear Cover of the Machine Cb Turn the Machine OFF ON and then when it shows Stabilizing Image check that the CL grey coloured shaft turns O degrees and stops Pressure position Rollers all down At the end of the Stabilizing Mode the shaft should turn another O degrees to return the Back Up Rollers to the Retracted position all up NOTE To see the end of the shaft you will need to look over the top of the PWB-MFP Board and then down slightly A small blob of Tipex will aid you to see that the shaft turns If the CL Shaft DOES turn O degrees then go to Section Checking PS Sensor Operation If the CL Shaft DOES NOT turn O degrees then go to Section Checking the CL Operation Section Checking PS Sensor Operation Remove The Transfer Belt Assembly from the Machine and place it on A CLEAN FLAT SURFACE Ensure there are no screws etc on the surface Remove the Image Units and place them on a CLEAN FLAT SURFACE and cover them with several A sheets or a clean cloth to protect the PC Drums from the light With the Machine turned ON enter the Service Mode and select State Con ?rmation Sensor Check and then select the screen with PS on it Check the outputted data changes from to and visa versa when you operate the PS Sensor Actuator Arm using your hand If the outputted data DOES NOT change Replace the PS Sensor Re-Check the outputted data of PS in the State Con ?rmation screen If the outputted data still does not change replace the Printer Control Board PRCB A E
