For this purpose, it performs evaluation and processing of the input signals. On the basis of these signals, it initiates the appropriate controls (for instance, adjustment of the normal level). In order to perform its control functions, the electronic control unit needs additional data provided by other electronic control units. These data are made available on the SAE-CAN bus. Height sensors Two height sensors mounted on the rear axle and one on the front axle are the actual-value transmitters applied for continuous monitoring of the actual vehicle level. Pressure sensors The pressure sensors determine the pressures prevailing in the supporting bellows of the axles. These data are used for the pressure-dependent ECAS functions, such as lifting-axle control, traction help and axle-load sensing. Solenoid valves In the control of the system, the solenoid valves are the interface between the electronic output signals of the electronic control unit and the pneumatic actuating signals controlling the air suspension bellows.
