Procedure Expected Result 1. Choose Monitor > Current Fault Alarm. The Filter window is displayed. 2. Press F1. Alarm information is displayed in Current Fault Alarms. 4. Press F1. Detailed help information of the function is displayed, including related operations, parameters, and note. 5. Click the link as alarm name in process advice. Detailed help information about the alarm is displayed. Test Description  None T01-0102 M2000 Status Monitoring Objective To verify online system monitoring Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites  You have logged in to the M2000 client. Procedure Expected Result 1. Choose Monitor > System Monitor > Monitor Browser. The System Monitor Browser window is displayed 2. Click the Performance Monitor tab in the System Monitor Browser window. The Server Name, Server Status, OS, Free Physical Memory, Total Physical Memory, Free Swap Memory, Total Swap Memory, CPU Usage iManager M2000 Mobile Element Management System Operation Guide 2 Rate and Memory Usage are displayed. 3. Click the Hard Disk Monitor tab in the System Monitor Browser window. The Server Name,Server Status, OS, Partition(Mounted Path), Total Size, Used Size, Free Size, Used Rate, Status are displayed. 4. Click the Database Monitor tab in the System Monitor Browser window. The Database Name, Server Name, OS version, Total Data Space, Used Space, Free Space, Used Rate, Total Log Space, Free Log Space, and Status are displayed. 5. Click the Service Monitor tab in the System Monitor Browser window. The Agent Name, Service Name, Service Description, status, Service Start Time, Auto Restart Count and server name are displayed. 6. Click the Process Monitor tab in the System Monitor Browser window. The Agent Name, Process ID, Handle Number, CPU Usage Rate, Memory Usage, DB Connection Number, and Thead Number are displayed. 7. Click the NE Monitor tab in the System Monitor Browser window. The NE Name, NE Type, Alarm Status, and Connection Status are displayed. Test Description  None T01-0103 The Collection of Performance Statistical Data Objective To verify that the M2000 supports the collection of performance statistical data. Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites  You have successfully logged in to the M2000 client and have the correlative privilege. Procedure Expected Result 1. Choose Performance > Query Result. The Query Result window is displayed. 2. Expand the node OMC and double-click the NM Server. The performance statistical data of NM server is displayed in a table.The following indicators are contained: Start Time,Period,Server Name,Average load of the primary processor,Peak load of the primary processor,Average usage ratio of the memory,Peak usage ratio of the memory,Average usage ratio of the hard disk,Peak usage ratio of the hard disk. 3. Double-click the node Database. The performance statistical data of database is displayed in a table.The following indicators are contained: Start Time,Period,Server Name,Instance Name,Database Name,Average usage ratio of database,Peak usage ratio of database. Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites  You have obtained the password of the user for logging in to the client with the required privileges.  An application has been submitted for the commercial license with the software management privilege based on the ESN of the server used on the customer site.  Log in to the server as root. Procedure Expected Result 1. Upload the license file in the ASCII mode to the /tmp folder on the server. The license file is renamed osslicense.dat. 2. Execute updateLicense -file /tmp/osslicense.dat. A prompt is displayed accordingly. 3. Enter Y to confirm the license update. 4. Shut down the M2000 server. All M2000 services stop successfully. 5. Restart the M2000 server. 6. Log in to the M2000 client. Choose Software > Browser. The Software Browser window is displayed. Test Description  The M2000 enables optional functions to the user based on the authorization in the license file. T01-02 User Profile Management T01-0201 User Profile Management of Alarm Color Display Objective To verify that the M2000 supports the user profile management of alarm color display. Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites  The user has logged in to the M2000. The user has the relevant operation rights.  The active alarms are available on the M2000. Procedure Expected Result 1. Choose Topology > Main Topology on the M2000 client. The Main Topology window is correctly displayed. 2. Choose System > Preferences on the M2000 client. The Preferences dialog box is correctly displayed. 3. Select Color from the left navigation tree. The color setting of each alarm severity is displayed in the right list. 4. Topology window, the alarm colors are displayed as the set colors. 5. Exit from the terminal and then log in to the M2000 client on another terminal. The user exits from the terminal and logs in to the M2000 on another terminal successfully. 6. Choose Topology > Main Topology on the M2000 client. The Main Topology window is correctly displayed. The alarm colors are the same as those set in step 4. Test Description  The setting functions saved as user profile include: Output Window,Region Setting,LMT Prompt Setting,MML Client Setting,PM Preferences,Locking Interval,Number,Time Mode,Color,Alarm Local Terminal Settings,Topology Status Display,Upgrade  The user profile settings are applicable to only the current user. T01-0202 User Profile Management of Topology Filter Conditions Objective To verify that the M2000 supports the user profile management of topology filter conditions. Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites  The user has logged in to the M2000. The user has the relevant operation rights. Procedure Expected Result 1. Choose Topology > Main Topology on the M2000 client. The Main Topology window is correctly displayed. 2. Choose Topology > Show > Filter on the M2000 client. The window for setting topology filter conditions is displayed in the right window. 3. Set topology filter conditions. The Main Topology window is displayed according to the set filter conditions. 4. Exit from the terminal and then log in to the M2000 client on another terminal. The user exits from the terminal and logs in to the M2000 on another terminal successfully. 5. Choose Topology > Main Topology on the M2000 client. The Main Topology window is correctly displayed according to the filter conditions set in step 3. Test Description  None T02 Fault Management T02-01 Centralized Storage of Alarm Information T02-0101 Storage of Fault Alarm Information Objective To verify that the M2000 supports the function of storing fault alarm information Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites iManager M2000 Mobile Element Management System Operation Guide 5  The M2000 is connected to the NE correctly and both are operational.  You have logged in to the M2000 and have the privilege to operate the NE.  The M2000 main topology has been loaded.  The alarm console on the LMT is running. Procedure Expected Result 1. Create a fault alarm on the NE, and verify that the alarm is seen on the NE alarm console. 2. On the main topology view of the M2000 client, select the faulty NE. Right-click the NE and select Query Alarm > Current Fault Alarms from the shortcut menu. You can correctly open the Current Fault Alarms–Alarm Source window. 3. Search the alarm in the Current Fault Alarms-Alarm Source window You can find the fault alarm reported by the NE. Test Description  Wait 15 seconds before querying the alarm because there is a delay in alarm reporting.  Before the test, verify that the alarm severity redefinition and alarm filter functions are disabled. T02-0102 Storage of Event Alarm Information Objective To verify that the M2000 supports the function of storing event alarm information Serial No. of Test Networking Diagram None Prerequisites  The M2000 is connected to the NE correctly and both are operational.  You have logged in to the M2000 and have the privilege to operate the NE.  The M2000 main topology has been loaded.  The alarm console on the LMT is running. Procedure Expected Result 1. Create an event alarm on the NE, and verify that the alarm is seen on the NE alarm console. 2. On the main topology view of the M2000 client, select the NE that generated the event alarm. Right-click the NE and select Query Alarm > Event Alarm from the shortcut menu.
